P-Nut Butter

Here it is. Mrs. Lewis’s Famous Peanut Butter Squares Recipe. Be careful – you can’t eat just one!
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Butter
4 Cups Peanut Butter
5 Cups Powdered Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Mix all ingredients together. It’s easier if you mix with your hands, like bread dough. The mixture is too thick to try to use a spoon. Once this is all mixed together (it may seem just a bit dry – that’s OK) press it into a lightly greased (sprayed with cooking spray) 9X12 pan. Press firmly until the mixture is smooth and uniform and looks creamy. Spread with topping mixture to edges. Cool in refrigerator as long as you can keep everyone away from them!
Topping:
One bag (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
5 tablespoons butter
Carefully melt mixture in microwave. DO NOT OVERHEAT! Start with 30 seconds, stir completely, and then try another 30 seconds. That should be all it takes. Spread evenly over peanut butter mixture. Cool.
